A stirring song, this particular piece of music speaks of the
force and fury of epic combat. Those to whom the song is directed
are struck by a wave of sonic force, which can both damage and
deafen the victim. If the sonic energies of this song are not
focused at a specific target, the note will affect all those in
the room.

Those to whom the song is directed are struck by a wave of sonic force, which can both damage and deafen the victim. If the song is played without target, the note will affect all those in the room, including the members of the bard's group! Blinding the bard will therefore limit the usefulness of the song. The amount of damage depends (assumedly) on the quality of the instrument, and the skill of the bard in playing the song.

This skill is particularly useful against scholars (who cannot cast spells when deaf) and nefortu (who take extra damage from sound-based attacks). Optionally, the area-attack effect of the song, when played without specifying a target can be used to drive hidden, camouflaged and invisible players and NPCs into combat.
